Joining forces together for the writing of a Torah scroll in memory of major David Meir hy”d

Donors: 1284

Writing a Torah Scroll in memory of Major David Meir hy”d, a reserve officer in Sayeret Matkal who was killed in the battles of October 7, Motzaei Simchat Torah 5784 in Kibbutz Beeri. David grew up in Kokhav HaShahar. The son of Yair and Chaya Meir, the youngest of seven brothers and sisters. Married to Anat, and father of Shaked who is celebrating his first birthday these days. On the morning of Simchat Torah, David hastily left his house in Jerusalem, leaving behind his wife and infant son, and without hesitation set out to protect the residents of southern Israel. While fighting intensely in defense of the people of Beeri, David was hit by terrorist gunfire and killed. He was 31 when he fell. In the last few years, David and Anat lived in the Nachlaot neighborhood of Jerusalem and prayed regularly at the Korazin Synagogue in the neighborhood. The synagogue, which attracts many young people, is at its full capacity, in the central of the city of Jerusalem, which he loved so much. David was connected to the synagogue, the people, and would always know everybody. He especially loved the fact that the synagogue does not have a fixed prayer Nusach and it combines both the Ashkenazi and Sephardi versions. At the moment, only Sephardic scrolls are in the Aron Kodesh, and we would be happy to add the Ashkenazi book to the ark. On Simchat Torah eve, at this synagogue, David prayed his last prayer, and danced in the honor of the Torah, with his sweet son Shaked in his arms. Take part and raise a donation to raise the amount required for writing and bringing a respectable Torah Scroll to the Korazin Synagogue that characterized David so much A place symbolizing the unity of Israel that we need so much these days. In the city of Jerusalem, a city knit together. In a prayer for the rebuilding of Jerusalem and Ge'ula Shlema soon. And with hope they will come even before the Scroll is put into the Aron Kodesh.
