When war broke out on October 7th, The Shalva Center, dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities and their families, immediately opened its doors to evacuees from Israel's border communities and became a lifeline for displaced youth with disabilities, offering them the crucial rehabilitation they need while they are away from home. Now, half a year since the outbreak of the war, with the recent Iranian attack and escalating Hezbollah threats, the road home remains uncertain for these evacuees. In this time of uncertainty, Shalva relies on our collective support to continue its mission of compassion and care.
