Staff Sergeant Ido Zrihen Z"L born and raised in Jerusalem's Armon HaNetziv neighborhood. Ido was killed in Gaza during the Iron Swords War on February 24th, 2024. His death left an enormous void in the hearts of his family, friends, teachers, and neighbors. In his short life, Ido stood out as a leader and positive influencer both at Keshet Re'em High School, where he studied, and in the broader Armon HaNetziv community, which he loved dearly.  Ido left behind a legacy of community, friendship, and leadership. This legacy birthed our leadership program, 'Chetz MiKeshet' (Arrow from Bow), which hopes to follow in his large footsteps, through empowering Armon HaNetziv’s youth to lead and do good. Chetz MiKeshet, in memory of Ido Zrihen, is a leadership program which will cultivate a sense of responsibility and love of community and country. Our program came to be after the tragic death of our student Ido Zrihen.  The 'Chetz MiKeshet' program will be based at Keshet Re'em High School and will combine close mentorship from a select staff of teachers As part of the program, a diverse group of students will be selected to join a leadership cohort where they will cultivate entrepreneurship, leadership, and kinship.. The participants will learn to initiate and lead through unique training, while taking part in various activities that promote group and self-growth. Activities will range from hiking and outdoor pursuits to arts, sports, making, and business entrepreneurship. Moreover, participants will be called on to lead various projects in their school and neighborhood. Finally, our program will accompany the students while they prepare for meaningful IDF service. This unique program will help our neighborhood's youth turn passivity into activism and enable them to become a positive force. This is an opportunity for all of us to pay forward Ido's legacy. We hope this program will have a ripple effect on our school, neighborhood, and the broader Jerusalem community. Join us as we embark on this change for good! About our School: Keshet Re'em High School is the public high school of Jerusalem's Armon HaNetziv neighborhood. We focus on personal and communal development; our staff sees each of our students while nurturing their growth.
