The children will not be left to cope on their own. The phenomena of ostracism and social exclusion that occur within schools and children’s social circles leave deep scars on the souls of those children who are left to deal alone with the tremendous pain, which manifests itself each year in the tragic suicides of children and adults. In many cases the child is ignored by adults in the vicinity, who prefer to think “that's how it is with kids” and there's nothing to be done. This year, in the shadow of the Swords of Iron War, it has been even harder for children and youth due to the upheaval of the war and being uprooted from their homes. There are many tasks, and this is one of them that we must deal with. Social safety is in our hands! It is our duty to change this reality and save lives. Kanfey Dror seeks to lead a resolute struggle against these phenomena and to create a significant social rectification in order to literally save lives, with the belief and understanding that the responsibility lies with all of us.  Kanfey Dror was founded by the El-Ami family and named after their son Dror, a wise and sensitive young man who was deeply hurt by social abuse and ostracism during his childhood. Dror made a great effort to overcome this and was able to succeed in school, Mekhina (an army preparatory program), the army, higher education and with his family, until the scars from being so hurt as a child, that had left deep marks on his soul, rose to the surface, opened up, and overcame him.  Kanfey Dror aims to bring about significant change, rectifying the situation through action on two central axes: • Motivating meaningful public and communal discourse on the issue of harmful social exclusion, changing attitudes and norms, and forming an awareness of personal, familial and communal responsibility. • Providing communities and local education systems with integrated intervention centers that have the capability to cooperate as required in prevention and coping strategies, and to accompany children and families in crisis situations. We are confident that personal and public commitment will be able to significantly reduce the effects of ostracism and create a significant societal correction. The uniqueness of Kanfey Dror’s method of operation is in the parallel and complementary actions of raising awareness and changing the discourse on the one hand, and in developing organic local and communal solutions on the other, thus integrating the educational and communal systems, both formal and informal.  Kanfey Dror will direct and harness the entire system to effectively deal with this challenge. We are entering our third year of activity having helped dozens of children over the past months to leave the cycle of ostracism and return to feeling safe and included within the classroom and school. Your contribution will enable us to make these changes and improvements through: • Operating intervention teams and centers of assistance and guidance in communities and neighborhoods for children and families who are dealing with ostracism and/or a social crisis, which will act in coordination with the education system and the authorities. • Training “intelligent intervention” activists – community leaders who will operate the centers and intervention teams, and will lead the communal discourse. • Training youth leadership to deal with the issue in youth environments, in cooperation with schools, youth groups, and youth movements. • Leading a dynamic and ongoing campaign within communities, social groups, the education system, social networks and media channels - raising awareness, changing the discourse, and encouraging a sense of shared responsibility.
