Mossad Shikma – the Shikma Educational Institution - is a registered non-profit organization that began its operation in 1954 as an informal educational framework in Kibbutz Yad Mordechai, located in the Gaza Envelope. With activities led by participants themselves and guided by trained educational staff, the Institution creates, mentors, and develops personal talents in participating youth, through extensive and diverse educational and leadership activities. The institution's goal is to provide guided educational autonomy, offering boys and girls a safe and protected space for creativity, identity formation, and the adoption of group norms as part of life within a community.
