Eco-Tech on the conflict lines: Opening Doors Through Technology

Israel is at war, facing a severe and complex security situation that directly affects the residents of frontline communities. The physical threat, combined with the mental stress and uncertainty, severely undermines the resilience of these communities. One of the most vulnerable groups is the youth, who are at a critical stage of shaping their identity and future. The security crisis, alongside their personal and family challenges, deeply impacts their sense of control and capability. Technology education offers a powerful tool to build resilience among these children and teens. Engaging in digital media creation provides an escape from their current reality, while also offering a way to express their authentic inner world, fostering emotional processing. Group activities around technology develop a sense of belonging and promote leadership, responsibility, and social skills. Learning these skills brings back a sense of control, optimism, and hope. The Eco-Tech program empowers socially and geographically marginalized youth (grades 9-11) with high-level technological training in sought-after fields. Participants earn professional certifications, develop entrepreneurial skills, and cultivate the social tools necessary to succeed in Israel’s workforce. Join us in creating 15 new Eco-Tech groups in frontline communities across northern and southern Israel. Now, more than ever, these young people need your support to build a routine through learning. Your generosity will allow us to expand our efforts, make a profound impact on Israeli youth, and create equal opportunities through exposure to technology and science.
