RootIn is a unique program geared to assist people transitioning from an emergency period to civilian life. In condensed terms, RootIn can be described as a PTSD Prevention Program. Throughout history, Israel has perfected its’ ability to switch from civilian life to an emergency defensive mode within a few hours. However, very little attention was given to preventing the difficulties and undesired consequences people needing to transition back to ordinary social life after being exposed to an emergency period face. The attack on Israel on October 7th 2023, is the gravest attack on Israel since its’ inception, and with it, the “Iron Swords” war that ensued is the longest intensive war Israel was ever involved in. Thus, the need to support reserve soldiers transitioning back to civilian life has never been greater. That was the driving force behind the creation of the Rootin program. The guiding principle of the Rootin initiative is that individuals can naturally overcome life crises with the help of a short-term, focused intervention process (six sessions). This unique intervention approach assists individuals in recognizing the challenges fighting the war placed on them, identifying their own strengths as well as the resources available to them, resulting in having tools that enable building resilience and establishing a routine that adapt them to the new reality. With the support of a professional team composed of combat veterans (“Kaban”), the Rootin program significantly reduces the risk of soldiers developing PTSD, it facilitates a smoother return to society, and with it, a quicker return to the workforce. Although the cost of the Rootin program (six sessions) is 1,800 ILS / $530 per individual, soldiers are not required to pay a penny. That is why donations from good people like you are so valuable and appreciated. The entire initiative is based on donations, allocated only for the purpose of helping the RootIn initiative provide assistance to as many released soldiers as possible. The donation to RootIn is tax-deductible under Section 46.
