Beit Shay was established with the goal of integrating children with special needs into the wider community and promoting the principle of equal rights and opportunities. This center serves as a community and therapeutic hub for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. This population faces particularly complex challenges in the afternoons, especially in peripheral communities such as Nahariya. On the one hand, there are no existing community-based after-school programs, clubs, or activities tailored to their specific needs and limitations. On the other hand, spending long hours at home can strain families and prevent parents from enjoying quality time with their other children. Therefore, the establishment of a community, social, and therapeutic center like Beit Shay was essential. It provides a space for social activities, leisure, clubs, and enrichment, while also offering paramedical and emotional therapies. The center is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of experts with extensive experience working with this special population. The team is dedicated to creating a warm and welcoming environment for children with communication disorders and autism, as well as their families. Beit Shay also serves as a support and resource center, providing guidance, coaching, and training to parents and professionals in the area. The center operates under the auspices of the Ahavat Hinam organization, which supports children and adolescents diagnosed with communication disorders and who are on the autism spectrum.
