Now is the Time! Let's put a Smile Back on their Faces

We’ve all faced a difficult year of war! Sirens, fears, and uncertainty have become part of our daily lives. For children with severe illnesses and disabilities, this period has also brought emotional scars that are hard to describe, further intensifying their challenges and suffering. Now is the time to bring smiles back to the faces of the children of Simcha Layeled! This is why more and more families of children with special needs are turning to Simcha LaYeled (Joy for the Child) for support and guidance through these medical and emotional struggles. During the war, Simcha LaYeled was called upon to give urgent assistance to hundreds of families of children with special needs, most of whom live in the southern and northern regions of Israel. Since then and until today, we have evacuated families from conflict zones, provided emotional support through online workshops and personal meetings, assisted the injured, and enriched evacuees in evacuation centers across the country. Over the past few months, we have welcomed 80 new participants into our southern and northern branches, and we are now preparing to open additional groups. Throughout the past year, participants in our programs have benefited from personalized rehabilitation, advancement, and social programs. These programs have helped establish a sense of routine (as much as possible), which is crucial for their continued functioning and for reducing post-traumatic effects. The prolonged war has exposed and continues to reveal many difficulties, especially for those coping with chronic illnesses and complex physical disabilities. Many families, who until now managed without external assistance in raising their sick child, are now desperately seeking the support of our organization. Every new participant in Simcha LaYeled receives a comprehensive framework of personal, emotional, professional, rehabilitative, and social support. This includes the guidance of a professional team of social workers, social mentors, peer groups, and dedicated volunteers. These efforts are delivered through personal meetings, group leisure activities, accessible and adapted camps, and trips tailored to their unique needs. That’s why we need your help! Philanthropy is diminishing, government funding is being cut daily, and yet the needs are only growing! Now is the time for us to help these children!
