In Meidan's Way
By Giving circle - JGive
Now we are here to fulfill Lt. Col. Meidan Israel's dream and continue his legacy. May he rest in peace

Lt. Col. Meidan Israel, of blessed memory, was killed in the Iron Swords war on October 25,
2023, while protecting our homeland Eretz Yisrael and its citizens following the most brutal
attack against Jews since the Holocaust. Meidan was an officer in the standing army for the past
15 years, having dedicated his entire adult life to the service of his country. Meidan was only 35
years old. He is survived by his wife, Moran, and his 3 small children, Liav, Alin and Hili, as well
as his parents, brother and other grieving relatives, friends and neighbors.
Meidan loved soccer. Beside his love of his family and his country, he loved soccer more than
anything else. From earliest childhood he loved Beitar Jerusalem, then joined a youth league in
Mazkeret Batya at age 9 and later became an ardent fan of Real Madrid. Naturally, when his
son Liav was born Meidan spent his free time inculcating in his son a love of the game. They
played soccer in the backyard, watched soccer on the TV, went to stadiums together to see the
games. Meidan coached other kids in the game he loved, not just his own son. Liav had just
begun playing soccer in a youth league when war broke out. Tragically, Meidan did not live to
see his son play.
But you see, Meidan had a dream. This was supposed to have been Chapter 2 in his life of
giving to his community, to his people. His dream was that upon discharge from the army he
would work with disadvantaged youth by coaching them in soccer and creating a facility where
they could play the game most loved by Israelis of all ages.
That is why we - his family, his neighbors, his close friends - have launched a crowdfunding
campaign to make his dream a reality. Together we will commemorate Meidan’s life by building
a futsal field as part of a leisure complex where tournaments and other sports activities will be
held and where Meidan’s legacy, his joy in serving and helping others will be celebrated. This
project will be our way of thanking Meidan for his ultimate sacrifice. We will continue to
perpetuate Meidan’s values, which centered on giving and contributing to his community.
PLEASE JOIN US IN MAKING MEIDAN’S DREAM COME TRUE
We would be extremely
grateful for any donation to this worthy cause and for sharing our campaign with others.
Our partner in realizing this project is the “Zinuk LeDerech Hadasha Organization,” which has
mobilized to help build the futsal field. This organization is completely voluntary. The central goal
of this organization is to help reduce disparities among social groups in Israel. This organization
is recognized for tax purposes as a public organization and has a certificate of proper
management and recognition as a public organization under Section 46a of the Israeli Income
Tax Ordinance.
