This Year Your Chanukah Gift is going to Make a Difference: Support the Graduates' Coordination Program (GradCo) of the Achuzat Sara Children's Home - provide a Safety Net for the Lives of Children-At-Risk When our children graduate and are about to leave Achuzat Sara, they have no one on the outside waiting to care for them. As young children, the Israeli welfare authorities removed them from their dysfunctional families that were harmful to their wellbeing and placed them in Achuzat Sara. After leaving the safe haven of our residential home, our young adults struggle to be independent.  That is why we have created a post-graduation coordination, support and guidance program for our children. The program empowers our graduates and enables them to eventually become independent, self-sufficient and contributing members of Israeli society. We assist each child to slowly but surely navigate their transition to independence. Now, on Chanukah, we want to shine the (spot)light on our incredible graduates. While we are celebrating the miracle of our heros, the Maccabees, believing in themselves and overcoming their weaknesses to be victorious, we turn to you to help us help our children overcome their own challenges and reach their potential.  Without our graduate program and without your help, they would not have the tools to navigate the next chapter of their lives, including: • Army/National Service Preparation Programs • Emotional Therapy • Rent Assistance • Driving Lessons • Vocational Training • Sexual Health Education • Scholarships As the lights of the candles shine, let us support their efforts together and help pave the way to their brighter future.
