Itay Shanny - The Israeli Archery Association: A Journey of Excellence

Hello! I’m Itay Shanny, I’m 26 years old from Givatayim, and I am proud to be the first-ever Israeli archer to compete at the Olympic Games. I’ve been on the Israeli National Archery Team for over 12 years; I am 6 times national champion and a national record holder, and among my best achievements are placing 9th at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and winning the silver medal in the 2024 European Indoor Championships. Alongside my competitive career, I am a coach at the Wingate Academy for Sports Excellence, where I help develop the next generation of Israeli archers. My goal is to reach the top of my sport and represent Israel in the next Olympic Games – LA2028. The first major competition on the path to the Olympics is the world championships in South Korea in the end of next year. In addition to the hard, daily training, preparing for an Olympic campaign requires participating in numerous training camps and international competitions – those are crucial for my advancement and achieving peak performance for goal competitions. These preparations involve high expenses for flights, accommodation and entry fees, along with the rising costs of security – all of which amount to thousands of dollars per year. To ensure I get the best possible preparation, I need your help! Your donations will allow me to compete on the world stage alongside the very best, gain essential experience and continue to reach significant achievements. I thank you for your support and invite you to be a part of my journey to the LA 2028 Games. Let’s make history together.
