Honoring the Lives they Lived
Donors: 15
In honor of the family members who are no longer with us, yet whose love and values continue to live on.
Shutaf’s mission reflects many of the values our family believes are essential for creating a better world: an inclusive space where individuals feel safe, understood and accepted for who they are—empowering them to grow, learn, and contribute in their own unique way.
We pay tribute to these beloved women and the values they instilled in our family and in those whose lives they touched. Join us in actively honoring their memory by supporting Shutaf programs.
Julia Mati Jonnard z”l
December 12, 1926 - December 17, 2022
Beloved Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother
Julia’s compassion and acceptance shaped the value of inclusion in her family. She had a remarkable way of making everyone feel as though their story was the most important one ever told. Over the years, she connected with people from all walks of life, forming lasting friendships.
Teresa Elaine Grunwald z”l
May 9, 1945 – September 12, 2023
Beloved Daughter, Cousin, Wife and Friend
Teresa had an infectious excitement for life, with countless interests and a passion for travel that she shared with her beloved husband, Bernie z”l. One of the influences that shaped her commitment to social justice was her family’s experiences as Holocaust survivors. She cared deeply for others, believing that every person deserved compassion and the chance to be seen as worthy and important.
Shutaf’s dedication to inclusion and empowerment reflects the very values these cherished women stood for. It felt only natural to honor them in a place that embodies the kindness, acceptance, and passion they shared.
Thank you for supporting Shutaf’s vital work—your generosity fosters a more inclusive world where everyone can thrive.
