Embracing the Metula community

Metula is the northernmost settlement in the State of Israel, surrounded on the north, east and west by hostile villages, who for years have armed themselves and threatened the lives of the residents. On Sunday, October 8, 2023, a daily attack on the settlement began. Out of 650 households, 450 were damaged, some completely. The residents were initially evacuated to hotels in a centralized manner, but since the beginning of the 2015 school year, most families with children have scattered throughout the country, from Kibbutz Snir in the north to Kiryat Gat in the south. This reality is damaging the community fabric of the residents. The council and the community center are making great efforts to strengthen the connection with the residents with a rehabilitation plan for returning home, emphasizing the rebuilding of an excellent education system, which will attract the residents of Metula to return home and new residents to join the Metula community in the near future. Building an excellent education system requires the mobilization of many resources, and the council is working day and night to mobilize the aforementioned resources. The rehabilitation of Metula is a national project that will reflect national resilience on all residents of the State of Israel. Join us in helping the Metula community return home.
