Malachey Avraham Farm Fundraiser The Malachey Avraham Farm was established a year ago. We, the Dorani family moved there about four months ago with the express purpose of securing this special swath of land between The Judean Desert and The Chevron Hills.  My wife, Odeyah and I, Tzurnatan live on the farm with our six children: Bat-Tzion, Hallel, Elkanah, Tiferet, Ta’ir and B’naya, ranging in age from fourteen to two years old. Currently, we are living in an uninsulated/unheated structure with one closed off room, which serves as a bedroom. There are no utilities hooked up: no water, no electricity.  Odeyah is a teacher and mother and is in charge of the day-to-day needs of the farm as well as the young women volunteers. I am a Major in the IDF and Acting Commander of the Intervention Force of the Southern Command.  I was called up at the beginning of the war and have been serving since then, balancing between military duties and the mitzvah of “yishu ha’aretz: settling the land” on the farm.  We took on this national, patriotic mission, abandoning our family home and “normal” life to protect the Land of Israel.  The young women volunteers are on watch duty as well as serving as shepherds, protecting a wide stretch of land.  We deal with harassment by local Arabs on a daily basis. Our presence on the ground prevents Arab building in the area and has created a contiguous Jewish, residential presence surrounding Ma’aleh Chever. As many farmers do, we too thank God for the rain. It’s a blessing, however the recent storm and high winds put our important mission on the farm in danger.  Use of Funds: 1. Repairs (storm remediation) 2. Improvements: weatherproofing (water/wind) the living structures (for family and volunteers)  3. Purchase: a basic, solar heating system for the children 4. General Infrastructure Upgrades; Roadwork: main road, leading up to the farm 5. General Farming and Improvements for Livestock; Improvements to sheep’s pen  6. Security Upgrades; Fire Safety Upgrade 7. Construction of Rest Stop for Soldiers/Volunteers

The Vision The Jewish People have returned to their land, slowly shaking the dust of the exile off their clothing and seeking a living connection with their land and their Torah.
