Mordechai Itan Kinan z"l was a young man full of charm and light who loved life.
He traveled, took photos, led in Bnei Akiva, wrote personal journals, and was surrounded by loving and beloved friends. For four years, he fought bravely and faithfully against the cancer he was diagnosed with, until on the evening of Yom Kippur 5785, at the age of just 18.5, he returned his pure soul to its Creator.
In the last week of his life, while lying on his deathbed, Mordechai Itan asked influential figures and, personally, his close brother Tal Chaim, to make his dream a reality. The dream he had been planning for about six months – to establish the 'Shabbat Table' project in the Katzrin community.
In his dream, Mordechai Itan saw adults and children, the elderly with teenagers, families and individuals from different backgrounds, coming together and sitting around the Shabbat table 'as one man with one heart', enjoying a special atmosphere with Shabbat songs, stories, meat, fish, and various delicacies. No one is left alone!
