Israel is in a prolonged state of emergency. While, as a nation, we fight for our survival and security, our struggle as a community for equality and safety is far from over. For 50 years, The Aguda – Israel’s LGBTQ+ Task Force has been the community’s shield, a pioneering organization founded by courageous individuals who fought for freedom, equality, security, and human dignity. In times of darkness, they chose to light the way, leaving shame and secrecy behind to stand for their rights with pride. The Israeli LGBTQ+ Archive: Preserving Our LegacyEstablished by The Aguda in collaboration with Tel Aviv University, the Israeli LGBTQ+ Archive is the first institutionalized collection dedicated to the social, cultural, and political history of the LGBTQ+ community in Israel. We are currently working to make its contents accessible to the public and bring this invaluable resource online. The archive includes: 📜 Organizational collections – such as 50 years’ worth of documents from The Aguda. 📰 Community collections – including a vast archive of LGBTQ+ media and publications. 📚 Personal collections – featuring materials from key figures in the community. This structured, fully digital archive is designed to support academic research, community and social projects, and the preservation of historic records for future generations.
