Omer Glinkewitz - Running for Shalva’s Children – Sydney 2025

I am embarking on a personal and meaningful journey where running meets hope – yes, it might be cliché, but it feels more real than ever in these times. The recent period in our country has shaken us all, and in my personal life too, I am experiencing waves of changes, challenges that shape me, and new beginnings that inject hope into me. Out of this desire to grow and give additional meaning to my journey, I have decided to take on a dual challenge: to run this August the full Sydney Marathon (42.2 km) and to dedicate every kilometer to the children of Shalva. My acquaintance with this important organization began during my time as a basketball player in the youth department of Hapoel Jerusalem. Over the years, I have seen how their blessed work has accompanied and empowered me at different junctures in my life. For me, "Shalva" is much more than a name – it is the essence of optimism, a beacon of hope, and a deep pride in genuine social action. In order for this journey to come to fruition and become significant support for the children of Shalva, I need your help.
