🌸 Honoring a Life Filled with Color and Compassion Debby Barnett was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was a radiant soul who carried love, light, and creativity into every space she entered. Her smile could soften pain, her kindness could lift hearts, and her passion for helping children shaped everything she did. As a dedicated speech therapist, Debby devoted her professional life to helping children find their voices — literally and emotionally. She worked with children facing communication and developmental challenges, always meeting them with patience, joy, and unwavering care. Debby was also a talented artist, painting on silk and making art out of glass. Debby passed away at just 55 years old, after a courageous battle with cancer. Her sudden loss has left a deep void in the lives of so many — but her light, her mission, and her compassion live on. ⸻ 🎯 Our Mission Debby’s Paintbrush is a project launched in her memory — to provide art therapy to children experiencing trauma, grief, illness, and hardship. We believe in the power of creativity as a path to healing and self-expression, especially when words are too hard to find. Through painting, drawing, and hands-on art activities, children are given a safe, structured space to release fear, process emotions, and rebuild confidence. Art therapy allows children to express what they feel but cannot yet say. By creating art in a safe, supported environment, children can begin to process overwhelming experiences, reduce anxiety, and slowly reconnect to a sense of control, identity, and hope. Trained therapists will help children transform their pain into color, form, and meaning — giving them a voice through creativity and a pathway toward healing. ⸻ 🧒 Who We’re Helping We are partnering with trusted organizations, being registered charities that serve children in crisis, such as: • children affected by terror •offering shelter and healing to youth at risk • Childrens’ units in Hospitals – where young patients face long, painful journeys through illness and recovery ⸻ 💗 How You Can Help Your generous donation will help us: • provide trained, trauma-informed art therapists direct to the children in need • Provide children with personalized art kits • Bring mobile therapy sessions to shelters, hospitals, and schools • Fund art healing workshops in partnership with existing care providers Our initial goal is to raise ILS1m/USD 300,000 which would provide 30-40 children with weekly one-on-one therapy sessions for two years. We hope to grow and increase this number annually. Every contribution becomes a brushstroke of healing and hope.
