Evacuated, But Not Alone!

Israel is once again facing an unprecedented war — this time with Iran, and this time the home front is the front line. The Abraham Group and Gvanim NGO are stepping up to serve as a beacon of hope. Just as we responded on October 7, the moment the Iranian missile attack began, Abraham opened its doors in both Tel Aviv and Eilat to host evacuated families — completely free of charge — and Gvanim is offering a supportive framework of community activities and emotional resilience. Abraham Tel Aviv has also become a hub for volunteers, in collaboration with Lev Echad and other organizations providing broad support in various areas. Our focus is on helping the thousands of civilians who receive no government or municipal funding but are in desperate need of evacuation — families whose homes were damaged or who have no protective shelters and are forced to sleep in parking garages under unlivable conditions. Until now, all expenses have been covered by the Abraham Group. However, the growing needs are beyond what we can bear alone. That’s why we’ve launched a fundraising campaign in Israel and the U.S. Abraham and Gvanim are offering a wide, embracing support system — free of charge — for evacuees: • Protected spaces and shelters at Abraham • Spacious rooms for families to stay together • Free breakfast • A large, fully equipped guest kitchen for self-cooking • Comfortable shared spaces • Emotional support and group activities by Gvanim to strengthen resilience and process the trauma • Enriching content and recreational activities For children and adults alike
