The COVID-19 crisis has brought about a massive rise in the scope of domestic violence in Israel. Sadly, Children at risk are particularly exposed to high rates of violence and are now at an even greater risk of physical and emotional harm.
El HaLev wishes to provide as many children at risk as possible with Empowerment Self-Defense courses, giving them effective tools to cope with physical and emotional violent situations and risks. Our courses are sought after by leading welfare organizations and institutions, and have been successfully delivered in emergency shelters, centers for prevention of domestic violence, boarding houses, and after-school groups, for over a decade.
The course includes a lecture for parents or professionals responsible for the children’s well-being, as well as four sessions, tailored to children’s needs, which provide participants with a set of tools critical for dealing with potential and actual risks and violence:
• Identifying preliminary signs of violence
• Various techniques for coping with real-time violence
• Establishing a healthy relationship with the body and strengthening self-confidence.
• Communication skills and techniques for dealing with bullying and verbal confrontation
Help us fund ten courses so that we can reach as many children as possible, and create safer communities for all of us!
