Hamaniot - For Israel's orphans

Approximately 35,000 civil-circumstances orphans are living in Israel (children who have lost one\both their parents before the age of 18). Each one of them experiences orphanhood in a different manner, in dependence of the circumstances of the loss, the orphan's age, the parental functioning, the family and the economical resources. Unfortunately, no governmental ministry in Israel takes responsibility on the orphanhood phenomenon, nor allocates budget and resources for the care of orphans. Not even one protocol exists in regards of this subject. 40% of the orphaned children live in poverty, due to receiving survivor's pension – the lowest pension in Israel. The state's deprivation as well as the objective difficulty of orphanhood at a young age create dangerous, devastating consequences. Nevertheless, this doesn't have to be a predestination – when our children receive the right tools to cope with their loss, the story of orphanhood changes and transforms into an opportunity. Hamaniot is here to make this possible, to let our children choose in the opportunity. This is why we develop and operate unique programs to orphans aged 4-18. These are the only programs in Israel for the support of orphans and their remaining parents\legal guardians, providing them with tools for growth and success, in the funding of private philanthropists as well as dozens of local authorities and the Ministry of Education. To this day, Hamaniot has already sipported hundreds of families – from Beer-Sheva to Kiryat Motzkin.
