Shlomo Samuels - Running for Hope 2024

In November, I will be participating in the New York Marathon on behalf of Shalva for the second time. Throughout this journey, I have discovered that by setting a goal, maintaining consistency, and having the incredible support of those around me, I was able to achieve the dream of completing a marathon. This accomplishment was not without its challenges, as I had to overcome numerous physical obstacles, including multiple surgeries on my right leg, which made it difficult to even walk, let alone run. However, throughout the marathon, the encouragement from spectators who cheered my name, offered water, and provided essential nutrients kept me going. This experience allowed me to truly understand how crucial support is for propelling us forward. This same kind of support is what empowers the children and families of Shalva, as they face their own challenges. Your contribution to this cause would mean the world to both me and the Shalva community, providing them with the necessary resources to continue thriving despite their struggles.
