Camp Shalva Summer Camp 2023

For a child with disabilities, every day is significant. Every day is an opportunity for development and growth. Every day also has the potential for regression if the child is unengaged and without a proper framework Throughout the year, Shalva's children with disabilities receive vital therapies and therapeutic programming. Supported by our professional staff, National Service Interns and volunteers, our children progress, step by step, acquiring the tools they need to live a life of meaning. When other children go on summer vacation, Shalva's children stay in their frameworks. Shalva does not stop the therapeutic process and (privately) continues all necessary activities - even in the summer. And then comes the highlight of the year for our children – Summer Camp!! They go on trips, sing, dance, swim, hang out, have fun. Like all other children. For the campers, this is the only week of the year when they go outside the confines of our building and for a full week, experience nature and participate in exciting activities, allowing them to feel for a moment, like everyone else. Equally as important, their families receive vital and much-needed respite. The week of Shalva's Camp is the ONLY week of the year when the family gets a break, to build up strength, and restore their energies. A week when the families know that their child is in the best hands, happy and fulfilled! We launched this crowdfunding campaign in order to make sure summer camp happens as planned and that Shalva’s children get the wonderful summer experience they have been waiting for all year Help us make this dream come true!
