Kiryat Ha'Leo – A Place For Growth In the heart of Jerusalem, walking distance from the major commercial and governmental centers and adjacent to new entertainment and recreational centers, the Kiryat Ha'Leom (National District) neighborhood. Alongside well-kept avenues and new apartment buildings, opposite breathtaking views, a warm, dynamic, and active community has formed. Residents from all walks of society — sabras and new immigrants, religious and secular, young and old — have chosen to establish their homes in this project, raise their children here, and to create together today’s family life that will form tomorrow’s memories On 7 Adar 5773, Rabbi Yossi Friedman and his wife Anat moved into the neighborhood, and immediately began organizing events aimed at promoting Judaism with a smile, for every resident of ev age. With a short time, Chabad House became a focal point for all residents of the neighborhood. Due to the lack of other public or community organizations (some of which have not yet been organized, and some of which are still in the planning stage), Chabad House has become not only a religious center but a true community center, at which all members of the community can meet and get to know each other. Chabad House is thus a truly integral component of daily life in Kiryat Ha'Leom. Today, most residents are in contact one way or another with Chabad House, and enjoy taking part in the various activities that it organizes. Rabbi Yossi and his wife give a good deal of thought and expend a great deal adapting their services to the nature and spirit of the residents. Our Services For The Community: • Prayer services on weekdays, Shabbat, and holidays • Torah classes and farbrengens for men and women • Workshops in a variety of fields • Regular weekly activities for children • Mezuzah and Tefillin checking • Camps for children Special Services On Holidays: • Construction of a giant tent for Yom Kippur services. • "Simchat Beit Hashoeva" events • Public Menorah lighting and Chanukah party • Distribution of 300 "Mishlohach Manot" for residents on Purim • Distribution of Shemurah matzah before Passover • Lag B'Omer parade for children, plus traditional bonfire and barbeques • Special readings of the Ten Commandments on Shavu’ot Businesses and other major organizations in the neighborhood (including “Cinema City,” government offices, and other commercial enterprises) also enjoy the services of Chabad House. Aiming Higher — Always Growing! To date, all activities have been carried out in the home of the dedicated sheluchim, Rabbi Yossi and Anat Friedman. Now, we feel that the right time is ripe to expand and move to a permanent home. At the end of a long search, we found a proper location for the Chabad House, in which it will be possible to coordinating all its activities. The building we found is in a strategic location in the commercial area on the main avenue of the entrance to Kiryat HaLe’um, close to the Supreme Court, the new Prime Minister's residence, government offices, hotels, and “Cinema City. ”The center will run throughout the week and will coordinate all our activities and services: • It will include a spacious hall for Sabbath and holiday prayers • It will be a venue for classes in Judaism and workshops in a variety of areas for men and women • It will be spacious enough for educational and social activities for children and youth In order to make this location fit for Chabad House activities, we need your partnership.Your donation will enable us to continue to enhance the wonderful connection of all the residents of Kiryat Ha'Leom to Judaism, and enable us to be there for each of them, at all times.This Is Our Mission,This Is Where Our Heart Is,This Is Chabad House of Kiryat Ha'Leom & Jerusalem Gateway
