Ends: 23:59

Donors: 524

On Friday, the 22nd of Menachem Av, 5779, Rina Schnerb hy"d was taken from us, when she, her father HaRav Eitan and her brother, Dvir, were seriously injured in a terrible act of terror. Rina was a source of light and Chessed to all who knew her. During the days of the shiva, and while the injured were still undergoing treatment and rehabilitation, Am Yisrael came to know the Schnerb family. They witnessed their boundless fortitude, faith and strength, which were apparent while they confronted the tragic events, just as they have been apparent each day to the world in their extensive endeavors in their own very special way. We, the family members, see an opportunity to leverage and strengthen the good and the great light that emanates from them. We believe in their way – our way – to take the situation directly to the realm of action and strength. The Schnerb Family has been privileged to become a kind of Chessed Center in the city of Lod. This includes food baskets and surplus food items from Simchas for needy families, a project of festive Shabbat home-cooked meals for hundreds of homeless people who have nothing to eat, a high quality second-hand clothing store at minimal prices, a "welfare office" that accompanies the needy in their quest for economic stability, a family oriented Midrasha, and a Kolel with widely accessible and varies Torah classes. At this time, we are establishing a nation-wide project of Torah learning in memory of Rina hy"d. Friday night study of Halacha and Emunah in many places around the country. Rav Eitan will lead the project. The funds raised will be earmarked for this project and for strengthening the existing Chessed programs. We call on you to partner with us and expand this amazing endeavor of the Schnerb Family and continue Rina's path in this world. Thanks to you we will be able to continue to grow in Torah and Chessed as Rina desired – a Torah of life and love of Chessed.
