The story of Harel🕊
Harel is a 22-year-old Israeli officer from Sayeret Givati who loved Israel with all his heart. Harel led his team (Team Ittah) through operational missions and difficult battles.
On October 7th, Harel rushed to the battle to save the lives of many citizens of Kibbutz Nahal Oz, followed by long weeks of fighting in the Gaza Strip. Since that day and up until his last, Harel committed himself to ensure peace for the people of Israel and to protect his country at all costs.
On December 22nd, Harel was badly injured by a bomb explosion in the southern Gaza Strip. After fighting for his life for 8 entire days, he passed away. Harel loved life. He loved laughing, partying, exploring the world, and meeting new people, But above all, Harel loved helping everyone and anyone he could.
Through your donation we will be able to cherish and commemorate Harel's legacy in the project: "Harel's Lighthouse" A lighthouse in Netanya, in a reserve close to Harel's home, overlooking the sea where Harel loved to surf, sit with friends and feel as alive as possible.
Harel always exuded confidence and was a place of safety for his soldiers even in his last moments. The light of the Harel was present wherever it was, and so will the light in the observation tower of the Harel - it will be visible from every direction. Harel's light will be lit all year round and will mark a safe spot for a local community meeting and a view towards the sea that he loved so much. *A picture is attached for illustration.
