Atufim B’Ahava – Israeli Children’s Fund (ICF)” was established just days after October 7th, with the mission of embracing and supporting the 557 children and young adults who lost one or both parents on that devastating day.

The children and young adults we support are facing not only an unbearable loss, but also the complex reality of trauma. Many have experienced displacement from their homes, the loss of additional family members, and a profound disruption to their sense of security, belonging, and stability. The new reality they were forced into following the tragedy brings ongoing daily challenges and complex emotional and practical struggles.

Our core commitment is to provide long-term support that enables every child and young adult to build an independent and fulfilling future. We accompany them from early childhood through the age of 30, committed to being there throughout their years of recovery and growth, and providing them with the tools and support needed to shape their future. Out of this profound loss, we work to instill hope, strengthen their personal resilience, and provide the support necessary for them to heal, grow, and thrive.

The organization was founded as an emergency initiative, but with the understanding that the impact of such a loss will accompany these children for many years, it has committed to supporting them for the next 25 years – until they reach adulthood and build independent lives.

The organization provides a personalized support system combining financial assistance and professional guidance:

Financial Support

- Recovery and Resilience Grants: Assistance with therapeutic treatments, emotional support, and participation in recovery activities. The flexibility of the grant framework allows each child to receive support tailored to their individual recovery journey.

- Education Grants: Support from early childhood through higher education, including assistance in funding courses and professional training.

- Life Milestone Grants: Support during significant moments and milestones throughout life – from birthdays to meaningful events such as Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, graduation, marriage, and the birth of a first child.

Grant allocation is overseen by a professional committee that reviews and approves each request individually, ensuring alignment with the organization’s criteria and defined goals.

Professional Support

Dedicated Programs: We develop and operate programs based on the evolving needs of the families we support:

- Transition to Independence Program: A dedicated program for young adults ages 17–18 that combines individual and group support, with the goal of preparing them for a safe and successful transition into independent adult life.

- Mentoring Program: A program for young adults ages 21+ that provides multidimensional support through ongoing personal mentoring and group guidance designed to help advance individual goals according to each young adult’s personal journey.

- Financial Guidance Program for the Surviving Parent: Providing knowledge and practical tools for responsible and stable financial management.

Personal and Professional Guidance: Beneficiaries and their families are accompanied by social workers who maintain ongoing, close relationships with them, providing personal support, a listening ear, and guidance throughout every stage of their individual recovery journey.

Every donation enables us to continue supporting these children and young adults throughout their years of recovery and growth, providing them with the support, opportunities, and tools they need to build their future.
