Pink Glasses was founded in 2020 with the mission of providing Holocaust survivors with comprehensive support in accessing Israel’s public healthcare system. At Pink Glasses, we believe it is vital that survivors receive the full medical care they need within the public system. However, many require hands-on assistance to actually obtain these services.
To meet this need, the organization developed four primary areas of support:
• Medical Transportation – rides to medical appointments and treatments, including accessible vehicles and ambulances. For many survivors, these rides are not merely logistical support but the only way to reach their scheduled care.
• Navigation of Medical Bureaucracy – assistance in expediting appointments and handling administrative processes through direct coordination with HMOs and hospitals.
• Eye Care Services – assessment and production of eyeglasses tailored to survivors’ needs.
• Information & Assistance Hotline – a central point that provides guidance on rights and services and manages all incoming requests to the organization.
All services are provided by phone, with no bureaucracy, income tests, or eligibility requirements.
