Tene Yerushalmi

For ten years, Tene Yerushalmi has been the co-founder of five cooperative communities operating in Jerusalem and some 400 graduates of all its educational programs. The organization's vision is to expand the circle of partners who are working to establish Israeli society on the values ​​of humanism, solidarity and democracy, while the society in Jerusalem will be a model for Israeli society. The association has developed a model based on educational programs on the continuum of life, personal guidance for its graduates and an extensive network of graduates that promotes social action and leads and develops the organization's activities. Today, the organization has four educational programs, the "Jerusalem Mechina", the second year, the "Beit Midrash Bechutaf" ( together in Hebrew) and the "Jerusalem Way", all of which teach to create trust between people. The method of work is based on the mutual thinking and creativity of the participants in the program, while learning and actually doing social activities. The Jerusalem preparatory ( MECHINA) program is the largest program in its scope for the past ten years, bringing together 60 high school graduates before military service with leadership potential from all over the country. This program prepares the future leaders of Israeli society and connects Jewish studies to issues in Israeli society, economics, army preparation, and more. This is done by integrating diverse community activities. In September 2019, an additional branch of the MECHINA we opened on French Hill in order to increase the number of participants in the program and to copy the community model to another neighborhood in Jerusalem. Most of the organization's activities take place in the city of Jerusalem out of the concept that " from Zion will come the gospel of Israeli society". In the complex reality of Jerusalem we are working to create a middle and a human encounter out of a sense of responsibility, caring and a great belief in the ability of people to work together to build a humane, solidarity, democratic and Zionist society.
