Ascent, a recognized and respected non-profit education and resource center with dormitory facilities, opened its doors in 1983. Ascent harnesses the mystical, spiritual power of Tsfat and the awe-inspiring surroundings to transform Jewish lives. We have created a warm, accepting, peaceful environment for Jews of all ages, from Israel, around the world and across the spectrum of Jewish life to learn, absorb, hike, meditate, create, explore and experience what it means to be Jewish. The Ascent experience is much more than the study of our Jewish teachings and heritage – it is a living, breathing, cooking, eating, meditating, painting, touring, all-encompassing experience of the Jewish soul that transforms Jewish identity and engagement. A life-long gift of understanding and appreciation of our Jewish heritage. • Hands-on activities engage participants in authentic, personal celebrations of Jewish life. • Community volunteer programs and meals with local families create warm connections with the people of Israel. • Dynamic classes, inspiring texts, meditations and discussion sessions open the door to timeless Jewish knowledge and wisdom, making Judaism relatable and applicable.• Jewish music workshops, song and dance set souls on fire. Ascent’s visitors include Birthright, Chabad on Campus, gap-year IDF preparation courses, Israeli school and college students and adult education groups. Since 2005, thousands of IDF soldiers annually attend Ascent’s Jewish Identity seminars, commissioned by the Israel Defense and Security Forces.
