At the heart of the Kinneret region, sits the Kinneret Academic College, an institution of higher education, founded in 1965, located in the eastern Galilee on the southern shores of the Sea of Galilee. The college offers academic programs in two faculties: The Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. Each offers programs for bachelor's and master's studies, providing students with diverse academic opportunities.
Enabling accessibility to higher education stands at the core of our institutional mission, and we dedicate substantial resources and time to this crucial endeavor. The college is steadfast in its commitment to actively promote and recruit students from peripheral areas for academic studies, providing dedicated support throughout their educational journey. This premise is grounded in the belief that pursuing higher education is a pivotal element in fostering integration into the workforce, achieving success in the cultivation of a meaningful and fulfilling career, and affording individuals the prospect of social mobility. A notable portion of our student body hails from peripheral regions, comprising the first generation to step into academia without an established economic foundation.
Kinneret Innovation Center – In order to advance the growth of the area, Kinneret College initiated an innovative strategy in order to leverage its human capital and its academic knowledge, a partnership was formed with Zemach Regional Industries (regional agricultural cooperative) to establish the Kinneret Innovation Center, aiming to build Israel’s leading tech hub for agriculture, water and sustainability. The creation of a center to promote innovation and the establishment of startup companies will generate a ring of value in which new jobs will be created.
