A Studio of Her Own promotes women artists and women's art in Jerusalem and throughout Israel. Located in a unique historic building in the heart of Jerusalem, the studio supports Israeli artists through various programs, including exhibitions, local and international residency programs, professional training, workshops, community programs, and a range of cultural events. These programs aim to foster values of multiculturalism, bridging and connecting Jerusalem's unique communities. Over the past decade, the studio is a recipient of prestigious local and international awards. Our activity is facilitated by partnerships with the Jerusalem Municipality, Jerusalem Foundation, Ministry of Culture, the U.S. Embassy in Israel, and additional private supporters from Israel and around the world.
Since the outbreak of the Iron Swords war, approximately 16,000 displaced individuals from the south and north are hosted throughout Jerusalem. In the weeks following the horrific events of October 7, 2023, A Studio of Her Own's team provides emotional therapy through art workshops for hundreds of women, youths and children, all of whom are displaced and in deep trauma. This initiative is coordinated with the Jerusalem Municipality and its community centers, and facilitated by a professional team of art therapists.
To reach each of the displaced individuals, we are asking for financial support. Every donation received will be directed to purchasing materials and equipment for these workshops (threads, paints, weaving and knitting tools, papers, and more).
