Ad’ar, a grassroots nonprofit organization established by Arab activist professionals in the city of Haifa, has been working towards the elimination of gender-based crimes/femicide in Israel since 2016. Ad'ar's vision is to contribute to the elimination of femicide in the Israeli society through the development of a ‘method intervention’ for professionals working with victims. The method engages all relevant professionals (therapists, social workers, psychologists, educational counselors, etc.), empowering them to promote social activism and develop effective risk-assessment tools to prevent femicides in their communities.
