Bar Kaima Farm - A Place to Grow
Bar Kaima is a community-based ecological farm that has been operating for a decade in central Israel.
It was founded out of a need for a space that is simple, meaningful, and safe. A place that connects people to the land, to each other, and to a sense of purpose.
Farming is our tool.
But the goal is people.
Over the years, we developed a unique program for youth who are outside the formal education system. Through meaningful agricultural work, a supportive environment, and fair wages, they learn what it means to take responsibility, to be part of a team, and to believe in themselves again.
With the knowledge and experience we've gained, we are now launching a new program based on the same principles:
“An Ecological Bridge to Life”, a rehabilitative employment program for individuals living with post-trauma.
This program is designed for those who have completed initial therapy but are not yet ready to return to regular employment.
They need a transitional space, a bridge. a place that meets them where they are, and supports them as they move forward.
What does the program offer?
Paid ecological farm work - fieldwork, packaging, hospitality, maintenance
A stable, supportive, non-judgmental group setting
A structured yet flexible 6-month program (with possible extension)
A gradual, personalized return to functionality and independence
Focus on doing, not the trauma
Participants are not treated as patients.
They are welcomed as people, working side-by-side with others, rediscovering their strengths through real, meaningful activity.
Why a farm?
Because farming teaches patience.
It teaches us to try again.
To accept the seasons, and to trust the process.
Just like soil needs care to grow, so do we.
How you can help?
To run this program we need partners.
Your support will allow us to hold this bridge and expand it so that more and more people can regain their footing, and build a future within a supportive community and a nurturing environment.
We would be happy to collaborate, provide further information, and warmly invite you to visit us in the field.
