Growing Opportunities

Bar Kaima Farm is a nonprofit organization and community farm in the central Israel, where soldiers, reservists, and civilians facing life challenges work side by side every day as they gradually rebuild active, meaningful lives through work, responsibility, and community. The work at the farm is real work - cultivating vegetables and fruit using organic farming methods, preparing planting beds, sowing, planting, harvesting, packing, and assembling weekly vegetable baskets that are delivered to private customers. Over the years, we have witnessed how agricultural work, responsibility, and teamwork help people rebuild routine, confidence, and a sense of belonging. Out of this experience grew our program, “Ecological Bridge to Life", which serves as a bridge between therapeutic and rehabilitation processes and a return to employment, community involvement, and independent living. Today, we are ready to take the next step! establishing an accessible nursery that will enable people who are also coping with physical injuries or limitations, making field work difficult or impossible, to take part in the farm’s activities. The nursery will allow us to expand the variety of roles and work opportunities available at the farm, create additional pathways for participation, and add a new area of activity that complements our existing agricultural work. Beyond that, it will enable the farm to grow its own seedlings, deepen the professional knowledge developed on site, strengthen its long term sustainability, and create even more opportunities in the future. Your support will help us build the nursery, make the work environment accessible, and create more opportunities for employment, responsibility, and community integration. Thank you for being part of this journey❤️
