IDF Widows and Orphans Organization

The IDF Widows & Orphans Organization (IDFWO) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive support to the families of Israel's fallen soldiers and security personnel. Founded in 1991, IDFWO stands as a beacon of hope and strength for widows, widowers, and orphans who have lost loved ones in the line of duty, ensuring they receive the care and assistance they need during their most challenging times. As a result of the atrocities committed on October 7, 2023, and the Swords of Iron War that followed, the number of new families requiring our support surged by 1,200%, compared to the annual average of the last decade. This has left the IDFWO forever changed, creating an urgent need to significantly scale our programming and individual support. In response to this pivotal moment in our history, IDFWO launched several new emergency responses to meet the urgent needs of our community. Recognized and supported by the State of Israel, IDFWO represents its members at the legislative level, advocating for their rights and ensuring their voices are heard. We are honored to have the endorsement of Israel's leaders, including President Isaac Herzog and Yossi Cohen, former head of the Mossad.
