We live in miraculous times. After a steady flow of approximately 1500 Olim each month from the FSU over the past decade, Israel received over 70,000 new olim from the Former Soviet Union during 2022-2023. These precious new Olim suffer from both cultural and social alienation upon arriving in Israel - "There i was Jewish, here I am Russian?" and particularly the young professionals who come alone on official. short-term programs, find themselves without family or community to support them, Shishi Shabbat Yisraeli (Israeli Weekend) has been at the forefront of welcoming and ensuring the successful cultural, social and professional absorption of new Olim since our founding in 2010. We are transforming lives and building Israel and our People, one Oleh at a time! Over the past 13 years, Shishi Shabbat Yisraeli has helped over 18,000 Russian-speaking Israelis in their 20’s and 30’s, most of whom arrived without family, thrive in their new home. Our supportive communities and 25 monthly dynamic grassroots programs in five cities throughout Israel celebrate Jewish and Israeli identity, promote unity and integration, encourage volunteerism, foster personal and professional growth, and develop outstanding and motivated young leadership for Israeli society and the Jewish People. Tens of couples have met and married through Shishi Shabbat Yisraeli and are raising their young families in Israel!!
