SUNRISE ISRAEL (R.A.)

The mission of Sunrise-Israel is to bring back the joys of childhood to Israeli (Arab and Jewish) children with cancer, and their healthy siblings, through summer day-camps and year round in-hospital volunteer programs, all offered entirely free of charge. In our celebration of diversity, we welcome Jewish and Arab children together, to our one-of-a-kind, entirely multi-cultural, fully bi-lingual (Hebrew and Arabic) day camp for children with cancer. In this tiny slice of eutopia, both campers and staff hail from diverse ethnic backgrounds, bringing each other joy and alleviating the loneliness that accompanies a cancer journey. From these grassroots interactions, unbreakable bonds are forged between communities, strengthening trust and togetherness. Sunrise-Israel programs form a stable anchor within the family unit, during this most trying period of time, helping the sick child build and strengthen their resilience – a vital element in their fight against their cancer.
