Gesher Multicultural Film Fund – Cinema for Change!

Who We Are

Established in 2000, the Gesher Multicultural Film Fund is a leading public, nonprofit film fund with an entrepreneurial approach. We dedicate the majority of our work and resources to advancing filmmaking that explores meaningful social and cultural issues.

We invest in filmmakers from socially and culturally marginalized communities and geographically peripheral regions, providing a platform for diverse stories and voices that enrich Israeli culture and create space for dialogue and understanding across society. The Fund serves as a home for these filmmakers, as well as for educators, philanthropists, and opinion leaders who share our vision.

Our Vision – Social Change Through the Screen

Our vision is rooted in an unwavering belief in the power of film and television to drive positive social change. We seek to challenge stereotypes and amplify the voices of communities that have historically lacked meaningful and fair representation on screen.

By supporting a broad range of genres and formats—from feature films and documentaries to drama series and new media—we work to make the screen a multicultural mirror that reflects Israeli society in all its diversity and builds connections among its communities.

Our Impact

Over the years, our distinctive partnerships and programs have helped transform representation on Israeli screens. The works we have supported have won prestigious awards, earned enthusiastic audience responses and critical acclaim, and challenged perceptions among decision-makers in the film and television industry.

What We Support

We support projects across a wide range of media and funding tracks, bringing meaningful stories to the screen and fostering social change:

• Diverse cinema: Feature films, documentaries, and short films, including animation.
• Television with a social purpose: The development and production of drama series that explore social issues.
• Emerging talent and innovation: Graduation films by film students, alongside projects created for digital platforms and innovative technologies.
• Creative incubators and special initiatives: Partnerships with organizations and foundations in Israel and around the world to advance a range of social goals.

Your Partnership Builds the Bridge

Your support for Gesher is a direct investment in stories that deserve to be heard and filmmakers who deserve a platform. With your help, we can continue to run special initiatives, develop films and series with meaningful social and cultural value, and ensure that the projects featured on our campaign pages achieve their goals—paving the way for further socially focused projects in the future.

Together, we can amplify more voices, build bridges between people, and shape a better society through the screen. Join us and support storytelling that makes a difference!
