Campaign slogan in English: Help DocuNation Bring Jabotinsky Hostel to the World
A film by Adi Yaffe Cohen | 60 minutes | Israel | 2026
Jury Prize Winner, Beyond the Screen Competition, Docaviv 2026
Official Selection, Jerusalem International Women’s Film Festival 2026
In the heart of Tel Aviv, behind a pink fence, stands Jabotinsky Hostel – home to 23 autistic adults.
For years, filmmaker and hostel counselor Adi Yaffe Cohen has documented the residents’ lives, both inside the hostel and in the world beyond it. Through her camera, an extraordinary relationship built on trust, openness, and honesty begins to take shape. The residents’ lives and Adi’s own become intertwined – through war, separation, and change, as well as moments of laughter, friendship, love, and dreams fulfilled.
After two decades of shared life, the hostel is about to close. As the farewell approaches, the roles begin to shift, and the distance between the two sides of the fence gradually disappears.
Why We Need Your SupportThe film has been completed, received recognition at Docaviv, and was selected for the Jerusalem International Women’s Film Festival. It is expected to be broadcast on KAN 11, Israel’s public television channel, on December 3, 2026, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
DocuNation is now working to bring the film beyond Israel’s borders. Contributions will support its international marketing and distribution, including:
• Submitting the film to festivals and professional industry platforms worldwide
• Introducing it to international broadcasters, distributors, and organizations
• Creating marketing, translation, subtitling, and accessibility materials
• Promoting educational and community screenings and partnerships with organizations working in autism, community living, and disability rights
This is a film about people who are too often left outside the frame. Above all, it is a film about friendship, independence, belonging, and the universal need for a place to call home.
With your support, we can bring the story of the residents of Jabotinsky Hostel to audiences around the world and inspire meaningful conversations about community, visibility, and every person’s right to be part of the story.
