Yated social club was established in 1991, following the birth of Erez, a child with Down syndrome, to Yekhiel and Rina.
Despite the doctors' predictions that Erez would never develop or gain independence, today Erez is fully self-sufficient and employed!
This journey gave birth to the vision of Yekhiel and Rina – to help every child with Down syndrome in southern Israel to grow and thrive, and to create a place where they truly belong.
Since then, Yekhiel and Rina have become the beloved grandparents of dozens of children, supporting their families and managing the club’s daily operations. The Yated social club has become a second home for the children who attend three times a week. There, they receive support, life skills, and guidance through meaningful social experiences. The club is able to function thanks to the dedication of students and volunteers who arrive every day with open hearts and bright smiles, lighting up everyone’s day.
For quite some time now, we have been focused on building partnerships and forming new connections for donations and collaborations—so that this magic can continue, and so that our home will remain open.
