High Holidays for Psychiatric Ward Patients

Some 4,000 people are hospitalized in psychiatric wards throughout Israel at any given moment. About a quarter have been institutionalized for dozens of years in residential hospitalization wards. During the upcoming holidays we will be handing out gift packages to patients of residential hospitalization wards to help cheer them up before the holidays. Each gift package will include a toiletry bag with essential care products such as a toothbrush, socks, and other articles required during hospitalization, focusing mainly on adults coping with mental issues. During the upcoming holidays we will not forsake the weakest and neediest of Israel's population – mental copers who have no place to go other than the psychiatric hospital, and many of whom have no supporting family. Now is our chance to cheer them up a little before the holidays. Your donation will reach the patients directly through Lishma, an association established and run by copers, for copers.
