Lishma Association (for the Inclusion and Empowerment of People with Lived Experience of Mental Health Challenges) was founded by and for consumers of Israel’s mental health system.
For us at Lוshma, people coping with mental health challenges are not “them” — they are “us.” From this unique perspective, we see it as our mission to amplify the voices of people with lived experience in the public arena and to make them full partners in matters concerning their rights, government policy affecting them, and the range of treatment options available to them.
We also work to integrate people with lived experience into the mental health treatment and rehabilitation system, including the development of innovative projects in which trained peer experts in the community support older adults and women.
