One Heart is a national response network that operates in times of crisis. It was founded by alumni of the Ein Prat Leadership Academy, at the time of Israel's disengagement from the Gaza Strip in 2005. Since its founding, the One Heart network has activated over 100,000 volunteers across Israel and in other countries (in distress situations). The NGO works seamlessly alongside established bodies, such as the IDF Homefront Command, the National Emergency Authority, the Welfare Ministry and the Education Ministry. One Heart's mission is based on three pillars: 1. Recruitment and training of volunteers to be part of a sophisticated, agile response team. 2. Activity seamlessly coordinated with local authorities in areas that are facing crises. 3. Training of teams during normal times, so there is high readiness of trained volunteers to activate at any moment. Included in the different One Heart activities, is activating a nationwide network of volunteers and opening situation rooms in the Gaza Envelope; and any emergency event that requires immediate and dynamic responses. For example, assistance with equipment, medicine, psychological support, transportation, hosting families and other needs.
