Even during wartime in Israel, 1000 Russian-speaking Olim - 70% of the total Aliyah - continue to arrive in Israel every month!! These talented Olim are the base of our Start Up Nation, they are contributing in countless ways to our country, and they need our support especially during wartime, without any other family or communal network.
From the Sunday after the atrocities on Shabbat Simchat Torah, October 7th, and now again, through the sirens and tension of Operation Roaring Lion, Shishi Shabbat Yisraeli began new projects to provide support, enriching Zionist content, and critical opportunities to contribute to our Olim soldiers and to thousands of new Olim across the country who are still reeling from the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Your support in 2026 will help us continue our over 30 Russian and Hebrew-language events every month in cities throughout Israel to strengthen Jewish and Israeli connectedness and build warm, supportive community among our Olim newest and more veteran Olim, including in the "Dacha" - our new Jewish Life Center for Young FSU Olim in Tel Aviv.
Over 40,000 young Russian-speaking Olim have participated in our activities since 2010. About 110 couples from SSY are building their young families in Israel!! We have helped marry and accompany many through significant Jewish life-cycle events.
Our life-changing, cultural absorption events for new Olim include:
* Monthly Friday-Shabbat Resilience Retreats for Young FSU Olim and Young FSU Olim families of reserve soldiers.
* Art therapy Workshop and Israeli Cultural Encounters (Argaman Project) cities every month.
* Local Walking Tours, Bus excursionsand hikes to explore and understand Israel while building new friendships.
*Community Holiday Celebrations, and Shabbat and Holiday Host Project - more veteran Olim inviting newer Olim to their homes for Shabbat and Chagim.
* Support group and lectures by psychologists and Jewish educators, providing counseling and perspective through weekly Zoom webinars, and in-person meetings to Olim soldiers.
* Professional empowerment workshops. lectures and mentoring.
* Torah with a Tel Aviv Vibe and other Jewish learning projects that connect new Olim to their historical values, traditions and homeland - giving them the "why" so they can better approach the "how" of living in Israel!
* Libraries of Russian-language texts and literature on Jewish and Israeli themes
* Conversational Hebrew Clubs throughout Israel, to build confidence in Hebrew, explore Hebrew texts, films and more, and create new friendships and community
* Ongoing Volunteer projects and 1500 strong volunteer network in memory of fallen member Police Officer Andrei Poshivay ( Nova Festival) to assist Olim evacuees from the North and South and new and elderly Olim in cities throughout Israel.

We live in miraculous times.
