HaOgen "the Anchor" for Reservist Families

We are in a challenging time for Israel. The shock the Israeli people experienced beginning on October 7th – left our government stunned, and civil society stepped up to the plate to meet the pressing needs. HaOgen – "the Anchor" for Reservist Families was founded to provide critical and comprehensive support to Israel's Homefront. Founded by former MK Rachel Azaria and social activists Yael Yehieli and Racheli Shoreti, together with women with strong military and industry backgrounds, HaOgen has become the largest organization supporting reservist families nationally through a volunteer-based support system. Whether emotional, financial or practical support at home, our volunteers do it all - babysitting, cooking and delivering meals, walking the dog, folding laundry, and other tasks at home. While are soldiers are out fighting on the front lines, we support the many small fronts inside the homes of those reservist families. They need this support, from within their communities. And it is our responsibility to be there for them. The war is not over. Though 2.5 years have passed, the military still requires around 40,000 reserve soldiers at any moment. These reservists are expected to serve between 2-3 months per year, and that is under regular circumstances. If there is an escalation, the number of days on duty will only increase.  In the meantime, the families of these reservists are relying on a single caregiver, often the mother, who, in addition to the demands of everyday life, juggling work and childcare, must also cope with multiple layers of anxiety and worry. We currently support nearly 40,000 reservist families through a network of 20,000 volunteers in 1,000 cities and towns throughout the country. We continue to ensure that Israel's home front remains resilient and can weather this terrible war. We remind those who are at home that they are not alone.
