HaOgen for Reservist Families

HaOgen for Reservist Families emerged in response to the current need, providing support to Israel's home front. We, Israeli women—mothers, sisters, wives—led by former Knesset member Rachel Azaria and social activists Yael Yehieli and Racheli Shoreti, established a comprehensive volunteer-based support system for all families whose spouses were drafted to the Israeli Army, willingly enlisted and joined the national effort. Now, many families rely on a single caregiver, often the mother, who, in addition to the demands of everyday life, must also cope with additional layers of anxiety and worry. This is Israel's home front. To support these families, not only so their partners can fulfill their duties, but to alleviate the burdens and challenges of wartime, a network of dedicated volunteers sprang into action. This network, comprised of thousands of volunteers, is spread across the country. The goal of this network is to provide a variety of services to these families whose parents and partners are on the frontlines, ensuring that Israel's home front remains resilient and can weather this terrible war. We provide an array of support options such as babysitting, cooking, running errands, walking the family dog, and handling simple home repairs. We build communities and instill resilience- we don't let reservist families go through this alone. As the security situation continues, we developed emotional resilience programs, couples counseling workshops, financial assistance partnerships, professional guidance programs for independent business owners, programs for children and teens when there is no school - and we are always adapting to meet reservist families' evolving needs.
