Peace at The South Hebron Hills

To bring the good - to light up the darkness
Donors: 499
My name is Eyal Shani, married and a father of three children. For the past 15 years, I've been meeting and connecting with different people - Jews, Arabs, internationals, settlers, and Palestinians - in an attempt to encourage neighborly relations in the southern Hebron Hills area. Five years ago, I encountered the organization 'Shorashim,' operating with a similar spirit of creating shared space in the Gush Etzion area. (Together with 'Shorashim,' I seek ways to bring good and light into the darkness.)
The Roots Initiative and my project operate through the Beit Hatiatron Association, which implements projects in the spirit of the late Rabbi Menachem Froman, a unique religious leader and peace activist.
The contributions received here are for the benefit of purchasing food and medicines (Western and natural), joint cooperation projects among people from different backgrounds, and ongoing maintenance of the 'Peace Van' - which I use to reach the most remote villages in the area, requiring off-road transportation to deliver supplies. In addition to items purchased with money, kind people also donate clothes, household items, games, and everything collected, packed, and delivered in the van to impoverished and weakened communities living in remote villages. These communities need support but also believe in peace and living in collaboration with their neighbors.
I appreciate every donation, and I'm always happy when others join me for a day in the field, to meet closely with the people in the villages in the southern Hebron Hills
