Tomchot Be'ahava

Tomchot Be’Ahava (Supporting with Love) is a volunteer-based not-for-profit organization that supports at-risk women and teenage girls during pregnancy, childbirth and early parenting. Women who have experienced trauma, neglect and/or violence of any kind -  need to feel secure in order develop trust in the social welfare and healthcare systems. Every year, at least 20,000 at-risk pregnant teenagers and women need our help. These numbers may be misleading because many such women remain outside the system and often don’t receive proper health care. One of our goals is to make sure that they know about us and are aware of the services that we offer. Unfortunately, the healthcare and social welfare systems in Israel do not have the resources to be able to offer the individualized support needed in the situations that we deal with. Moreover, members of this group tend to have little faith in the system, and therefore choose to neglect their basic physical and mental health needs during this very critical period. The NPO has 200 volunteers, from all over Israel, who provide professional support before, during and after birth. Additionally, we offer guidance to those who choose to have an abortion. Our volunteers receive professional training and regular support. We also have many partnerships with organizations throughout the community as well as strong ties with labor and delivery wards of most hospitals. How can you help us? Doula fees for prenatal, labor, and postpartum visits ranges between $450 to $1200. Our goal is to provide the best services at a fraction of the cost.
